The Colorado Kid by Stephen King

I listened to this and lovet it. I found the elderly newspaper men to be charming, very likable. The story (well, according to them it is NOT a story) of the Colorado Kid was told through these two to the rookie who was interning with them. The dialog was wonderful. Even though this was published as a Hard Case noir novel I didn't feel it was. It was much too warm and cozy for that. I am not generally a fan of unsolved mysteries but I did like this one.

The Likeness by Tana French

This book picks up more or less where "In The Woods" (which won the Edgar Award) left off. It follows Cassie as she investigates the murder of a girl who looks like her. While it wasn't a pulse pounding page turner I found it to be quite a good read.

The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd

I adored Sue Monk Kidd's book "The Secret Life of Bees" and expected to love this one as well. I did not, I'm sad to say. I liked parts of the book, mostly those dealing with the mother, her friends and how the death of the main character's father years before affected them all. But the main character and her romance with the monk did nothing for me nor did her self-absorption.

The Front by Patricia Cornwell

I generally love Cornwell's books and I've read many of them. I actually enjoyed this book until the end, which, in my opinion, was not satisfying.

Twlight by Stephenie Meyer

I read this because it has been so popular and I really didn't think I would like it as well as I did!
I might go on to the next one.
